Video walkthrough of CNS Freemium Experience:
Step 1: Login to CNS
From the CNS Treasury website www.cnstreasury.com we have a navigation bar at the top of the screen through which we can click Login to find out login screen:
At the login screen, simply enter your provided details and click "Login" to access the freemium environment. If you encounter any issues or need assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at support@cnstreasury.com.
After logging into your freemium account, you'll enter the freemium environment. You'll find all functionality in the left-hand side menu, including Dashboards for various overviews, the Forward Calculator under the FX menu, and a Guides section where you can upload or delete files as needed. (see below)
Step 2: Navigate the Dashboards
In the Dashboards menu dropdown, you'll find various overviews, including FX market insights, news, comparison charts, rate changes, and more. The FX market overview provides a comprehensive view of currency pair comparisons, indexes, bonds, top stories, and charts—all conveniently displayed on a single screen (see below).
Let’s explore the NZDUSD Overview as an example. The interactive dashboards allow you to adjust time intervals on currency pair charts. By analyzing two charts for the same currency pair across different timeframes, you can perform multi-timeframe analysis, helping you identify both short-term and long-term trends. This method improves signal validation, risk management, strategy diversification, and overall market understanding, leading to more informed and accurate trading decisions.
Step 3: How to use the Forward Calculator
First, we click on Fwd Calc underneath the menu dropdown item FX as shown below:
In this example, we'll consider the perspective of a US importer. Here, we'll be purchasing a specific amount of USD against the NZD and calculating the forward points based on the date we plan to enter into this foreign exchange contract.
As shown below, the values have been entered into the forward calculator for purchasing USD $1,000,000 at the forward calculated rate for November 20, 2024 (approximately 3 months from today's date, August 22, 2024).
In this example, three trades were entered into the forward calculator to estimate the expected forward rates for USDNZD. The trades include $1,000,000, $500,000, and $250,000, each set for different dates, demonstrating the power and flexibility of the forward calculator.
These trades can be either ideas or real orders you're considering placing with the bank—use it as you see fit. On the bottom right, you'll find an Export button that lets you save your data in .csv or Excel format. You can then analyze it or send it to the bank to place the calculated orders. The exported file, named "fwdRates" by default, will appear in your Downloads folder or another specified directory. Below is an example of what the raw data would look like:
