This article explains how to run and use the FX Blotter for daily trade tracking and the Reconciliation Report for month-end data verification in CNS Treasury.
1. Overview
While CNS Treasury provides a wide range of reports, the FX Blotter and Reconciliation Report are the core reports most users will run regularly.

The FX Blotter acts as a “to-do list” for treasurers and CFOs.

The Reconciliation Report is used at month-end to verify deal data before journal entries.
2. FX Blotter Report
Purpose:

Track settlements, positions, orders, and overall FX exposure.

Monitor order fills and their impact on your position.
How to Run:

Navigate to View Reports → FX Blotter.

Select the desired date or range.
-
Click Run Report.
Key Features:

Settlements:
-
Lists trades settling on the selected date(s).

“Days to Maturity” column highlights upcoming settlements.

Positions:

Displays overall position split by business unit and currency pair.

Distinguishes between Buy and Sell positions.

Order Tracking:

Shows orders that have been filled.
-
CNS automation captures these orders and manages the full trade lifecycle.

Distance to Next Order Fill:

Displays how far current rates are from your next order trigger.

Colour Coding:

Highlights transactions in or out of the money.

Recommended Frequency:

Once per day or at least several times a week.
3. Reconciliation Report
Purpose:

Verify that deals in CNS match bank Mark-to-Market (MTM) records.
-
Ensure all deal data is accurate before posting journal entries.
When to Run:

At the end of each month, after receiving an email from CNS Operations confirming your reconciliation is ready.
How to Run:

Navigate to View Reports → Reconciliation Report.

Set Start Date and End Date to the same day (as specified in the CNS email).

Run the report.
-
Export to PDF or Excel if needed.

Deal data from CNS against MTM files from your banks (e.g., ANZ, BNZ).
-
Delivery dates, buy/sell currencies, amounts, and rates.
4. Exporting Reports

All reports can be exported to Excel or PDF for sharing, archiving, or board reporting.
